Sujata Parsai has taken charge as the new Director of the Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum, Ahmedabad, from July 2020.

Sujata Parsai is a museum professional, an art historian-turned-educator with a passion for connecting India's cultural and artistic heritage to it's audience.

Her varied and well-rounded experience ranges from documenting museum collections and implementing preventive conservation measures as per international standards, to making Gallery displays interesting to viewers and conceptualizing art exhibitions as event management.

As the earlier Head of Cultural Programmes at Flow India, (a subsidiary of Flow Associates, UK), using cultural heritage as an educational resource for students of all ages, she engaged in all aspects of innovative programming with more than 45 schools in Delhi and NCR.

Formerly, as the Museum and Exhibitions Consultant to one of India's prestigious textiles, modern art and miniatures collection, the TAPI Collection (Textiles and Art of the People of India), she planned, coordinated and executed the internationally acclaimed exhibitions from the TAPI Collection 'Masters of the Cloth', and 'In Adoration of Krishna: The Pichhwais of Shrinathji' both in collaboration with, and in the premises of, the premier museum of India, the National Museum, New Delhi.

Notably, under the aegis of the National Museum, the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) and the TAPI Collections, she had the privilege of taking to Japan the unique kalamkari textile, which holds social-cultural significance for the people of Japan, and which was displayed at the famous 'Gion Festival of Japan' during the Indo-Japan Friendship Year collaborated between the Governments of Japan and India.

As the Programmes Officer with the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Ministry of Culture, New Delhi, she led their various outreach programmes for International exhibitions, notably Anish Kapoor - the biggest exhibition of Anish Kapoor and the first in India, Indian Life & Landscape from the V&A Collection, amongst others.

She continues her link with academics by presenting papers at conferences and as visiting faculty at the IGNCA, NIFT, The National Museum Institute, and Lady Irwin College in New Delhi, where she has been conducting lectures on Art History, Museum Management, Public Relations, and Indian Textiles.

Sujata Parsai is a Fellow of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. She is also one of the Founder Member of the recently formed, the Textile Conservation Society (TCS).

Sunanda V. Sudhakar

Sunanda has a MA specializing in Indian Painting, from the Department of Art History and Aesthetics, M.S. University of Baroda.

She joined the LD Museum in 2014 as Museum Keeper, and currently is Senior Museum Keeper for the Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum.

She worked closely with the research team in compiling and editing Museum Publication Catalogue of more than 500 Indian line drawings from the collection. Presently working as lead on the curatorial team, she is working towards streamlining collections management process, revamping of the gallery displays, and overseeing preventive conservation measures while continuously giving inputs on new website planning.

Priyanka Kundu

Priyanka Kundu did her Bachelors in History of Art from Kala-Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan and her MA Art History and Aesthetics with specialization in Indian Architecture from Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.

Priyanka joined as an intern in 2018, for the cataloging of the LD Museum. Presently employed as a Museum Keeper at Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum, as part of the curatorial team, she researches on the collections, plans online exhibitions, works on website content. She is keenly active on the museum education and outreach front, and supports all the social media content.

Smt. Namrata Vyas

Namrata completed her M. Com from Gujarat University, and has been with the museum in the capacity of Accountant since 2009.

Namrata is not only in charge of all the accounts of the Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum, but also works quietly like a behind-the-scene HR manager, ensuring wellbeing and comfort of all the staff. Nothing escapes her sharp eye for detail, which is a great asset.

Shri Pravin Gajjar

Praveen bhai has served the LD Museum since 1991. He joined in the capacity of Technical Assistant. Over the years, he is well versed with every aspect of museum work.
