The Feminine Flow of Three Traditions

Odissi • Mrittika Dhar

Manipuri • Roshni Sinha

Gaudiya • Mausome Rani Bormon

Written by Acharya Ajitprabhasuri in the late fourteenth century 1396 CE (1453 Vikram Samvat), in devnagari script and sanskrit language. The manuscript vividly describes the twelve births of the 16th Tirthankara Shantinath. The Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Institute of Indology received this as one of the 10,000 manuscripts donated by Aagam Prabhakar Muni Shri Punyavijayaji in 1961. This rare illustrated 14th-century Jain manuscript of the Shantinath Charitra is on display for the first time.

About the performers:

~ Mrittika Dhar from Chattogram began learning dance at the age of three and, in 2012, started training in Odissi under Guru Proma Abonti, the first institutional Odissi dance artist of Bangladesh and an ICCR alumna herself. An ICCR Scholarship holder, Mrittika completed her postgraduate degree in Odissi Dance from Rabindra Bharati University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Dance at Kurukshetra University.

~ Roshni Sinha from Sylhet, Bangladesh, began her dance journey at the age of six and later trained under Guru Nilmoni Singha in Manipuri dance. Rooted in Manipuri cultural heritage, she is currently an ICCR scholar (2024–25) pursuing English Literature at Gujarat University.
